Clearing Storm in Denali National Park

I traveled all afternoon through drenching rain. But when I entered Denali National Park, north of the Alaska Range, the edge of the storm still hung over the mountains.

Then the clouds broke.

Sunlight poured into the valley, turning the landscape gold and sweeping across the clouds like a spotlight.

The first time a friend saw this photograph, they simply said,

"It looks like heaven."
